NUNEVIT Retina Clinic provides customized retina treatment for each patient based on a very detailed and precise examination process.

Laser Therapy

Laser treatment of the retina is used to stop vessels in the retina from leaking. Depending on your condition such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and others, we use panretinal photocoagulation to treat a wide area, or localized photocoagulation to treat a narrow area around the macula. An irradiating laser is used to make tiny burns which seal the retina and reduce the oxygen demand in areas where blood circulation in the retina is insufficient, to prevent the formation of new blood vessels which are harmful to the eye.

If a small hole is found in the retina, laser therapy can also be used to prevent retinal detachment around the hole.

Vitra Multi-Spot Pattern Laser

The Vitra Multi-Spot Pattern Laser is better tolerated by patients, produces fewer side effects, and is faster and safer than conventional laser photocoagulation. This technology can efficiently preform a wide range of spot patterns adapted to the type and location of your condition. This process is relatively quick and painless making the burden of treatment significantly easier – especially for patients with loss of vision such as macular edema.

Antibody Injection

People suffering from damaged retina or retinal diseases with poor blood circulation often develop abnormal blood vessels in their eyes which can interfere with their vision. Injection therapy is often an excellent treatment option. An intraocular injection of an anti-VEGF drug inhibits the formation of new blood vessels behind the retina and to keep the retina free of leakage. VEGF stands for vascular endothelial growth factor.

If you are experiencing a build-up of fluid in your retina, such as retinal edema, steroid injections may be an effective treatment option to slow down the leaking fluids and preserve your vision. It is important to remember that the ability improve vision is limited in such cases, and because the drug is slowly absorbed, treatment needs to be on-going.
